Fishing in and around Pine Island Sound and the Gulf of Mexico can be extremely rewarding. There are two types of trips: Offshore and Inshore. Offshore: I find the offshore trips better for all levels of fishermen. During the winter months, you will travel about four miles offshore, well within sight of land. The quantity and variety of fish is quite astounding. Children find the trip exciting because of the non-stop action and bringing home a bucket full of Snapper is common. More experienced or adult fishermen might want to go a little further offshore for a try at the big ones. At twelve to fourteen miles the water is deeper and cooler. Grouper is on everyone's' wish list along with Red and Lane Snapper. We've caught a huge list of fish; some like the Goliath Grouper will bend your rod into a circle for so long you'll agree that this one is just too big! Inshore: Casting into the mangroves or fishing the flats of Pine Island Sound can be quite delightful for those with the skill. Snook and Redfish are the fish of choice in and amongst the mangroves, and there is no shortage of Sheepshead near any obstruction. Trout in and around the grass flats were of record size and quantity this past year. All equipment, tackle and bait will be supplied, so if you think a day on the water fishing with friends or family might beat a day at work give us a call.
